Florida Health Department Recommends Against COVID Jab for Kids

Big news out of Florida as it became the first state to officially advise against COVID shots for kids. The Florida Department of Health on Tuesday released new guidance that healthy children between the ages of 5 and 17 would not benefit from receiving a COVID vaccination.

The announcement comes in stark contrast to CDC guidelines, which recommends the jab for children as young as 5 years old.

Speaking during a COVID-19 roundtable in West Palm Beach on Monday, Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo cited a recent study from the New York State Department of Health, which looked at Pfizer’s coronavirus shot and found the vaccine’s effectiveness against hospitalizations in children ages 5 to 11 dropped from 100% to 48% over the course of about six weeks between Dec. 13 through Jan. 24.

“Florida recognizes that parents should always be empowered to make the best health decisions for their children. It is essential that health care practitioners review all data to evaluate risks and benefits unique to each patient when determining what health care services to provide, including the administration of COVID-19 vaccines. These decisions should be made on an individual basis. As the risks of administering a COVID-19 vaccine to healthy children may outweigh the benefits, the Florida Department of Health has issued the following guidance:

Based on currently available data, healthy children aged 5 to 17 may not benefit from receiving the currently available COVID-19 vaccine. The Department recommends that children with underlying conditions are the best candidates for the COVID-19 vaccine,” the official guidance reads.

The guidance goes on to list limited risk of severe illness, the prevalence of natural immunity (and the lack of research confirming a benefit of vaccination in children with immunity), higher instances of severe adverse reactions, reduced vaccine efficacy, and an elevated risk of myocarditis among the reasons for advising against the jab for children.

“I think what Florida’s guidance reflects is the latest research,” Governor Ron DeSantis told reporters at a news conference at Plant City on Monday. He said healthy kids are at low risk for the virus and that he’s seen studies showing there’s “very little benefit” for them.

Dr. Robert Malone, an mRNA technology expert and outspoken critic of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID vaccines, spoke during the 90-minute roundtable discussion, stating, “There is no justification for mandating vaccines for children, full stop.

We’re of the strong opinion that if there is risk, there must be choice. As far as we’re concerned, there is no medical emergency now, and there is therefore no justification for the declaration of medical emergency and the suspension of rights that has occurred with that re-upping of the medical emergency by the executive branch.”

“I think in public health, it’s important to be honest, not only about what we know, but also what we don’t know,” said Dr. Martin Kulldorff, another panelist. “If you go back and look at the randomized trials for children of the Pfizer vaccine that we used for the emergency use authorization, what those trials showed – and they had about a little over 4,000 people in total in these two trials – is that there is a reduction in mild infections. If you look at serious disease, hospitalization and deaths, there was none.”

“For parents who are trying to decide on what they should do [with COVID-19 vaccines], the first thing that you want to do for harm-benefit analysis is: Is there a mortality benefit for these vaccines for your child?” said Dr. Joseph Fraiman during the roundtable. “The question is, if you have a child who’s at risk or has co-risk factors for COVID-19, that’s a discussion with your pediatrician, but if you have a healthy child, the chances of that child dying are incredibly low, essentially close to zero, if not actually zero. Then the next part of the analysis that you would have to think about are the side effects of the vaccine and the symptoms of COVID-19. The vaccine causes severe symptoms in children and adults.”

These are what practicing doctors are saying, ya’ll. We’ve been told for 2 years to “trust the science.” Then, when the rules changed, we were told that “the science has changed.” Science hasn’t changed. We’ve been the subjects of a dangerous and unethical medical experiment, and now they want to use our children.

Thousands of doctors, researchers, economists, and frontline healthcare workers have been speaking out against the vaccines, the lockdowns, the mask mandates, and the bevy of ludacris restrictions to which we’ve been subjected. And they’ve been attacked, silenced, and sometimes fired.

Speaking at the COVID-19 roundtable on Monday, Dr. Ladapo summarized it well:

“Good doctors who were brave enough to say what the science showed got punished. That’s happened and it’s still happening.”

We’re not anti-vaxxers. We simply believe that every patient should be in control of their own health choices. We aren’t anti-science. We believe that our legislative process has been corrupted by corporations seeking to make a profit and corrupt entities who want more control over our daily lives.

We don’t co-parent with the government, and you shouldn’t either. The choices you make for your child’s health are between you and your physician.

Florida is the first state in the nation to defy CDC guidelines and speak the truth about COVID risks for our kids. We hope they won’t be the last.
